Re-Occupancy Inspection
On January 20, 2009, Brook Park City Council amended ordinance 1313.04, requiring a $50.00 fee for re-occupancy inspections on all single family homes and a $25.00 fee for all other residential structures. This fee went into effect on February 2, 2009.
In addition, an application form must be completed in order to schedule inspections. Copies of the application are available from the City of Brook Park Building Department, located at 5590 Smith Road and also on the City’s website at www.cityofbrookpark.com.
A re-occupancy inspection is required anytime title transfers or there is a change in occupancy for all homes, apartments, condominiums and rental property with in the City of Brook Park. The inspections consist of a visual review of the interior and exterior of the residence, garages, sheds and the property. Inspections generally last between 45 minutes and 1 hour.

Building a deck? Planting a tree? Installing a mailbox? 811 is the new
number you should call before you begin any digging project.
A new, federally mandated national “Call Before You Dig” number, 811, was
created to help protect you from unintentionally hitting underground
utility lines while working on digging projects. People digging often
make risky assumptions about whether or not they should get their
utility lines marked due to concerns about project delays, costs and
previous calls about other projects. These assumptions can be life
threatening.
Every digging job requires a call-even small projects like planting
trees or shrubs. If you hit an underground utility line while digging,
you can harm yourself or those around you, disrupt service to an entire
neighborhood, potentially is responsible for fines and repair costs.
Smart digging means calling 811 before each job. Whether you are a
homeowner or a professional excavator, one call to 811 gets your
underground utility lines marked for FREE.
Don’t assume you know what’s below. Protect yourself and those around
you – Call 811 every time.
