Our New Hours: Monday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Tuesday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Closed on Wednesday, Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Friday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Our Hours have changed but our Motto has stayed the same: We are still here to serve you! We want to hear from you with any questions or concerns you may have. If we don’t have the answer, we will certainly try to find the answer for you. Don’t ever be afraid to ask, all matters

Wednesday Shopping Bus –Change…. There will be a $1.00 fee to ride the Wednesday Shopping Bus. Our drivers do everything they can to accommodate your shopping needs but we will limit the shoppers to 20 passengers so call early for your reservation. Our stops will include: S & R Market, Giant Eagle, and Marc’s. Call 216-433-4136. Please call by Tuesday at 3:00 pm for your reservation.
On October 17, 2009, we held our First Annual Card Party. We look forward to this being an annual event. A special thank you to the Brook Park Booster Club, and our local city businesses for their generous donations they have provided throughout the year to the Brook Park Senior Club.
“Seniors Make a Clean Sweep” has been another goal of our office. On Monday afternoons, we take an hour walk around our wonderful city and pick up the litter. We then stop back at the Office of Aging and enjoy some refreshments. If you are interested, please call.
Residents 60+ remember our “Senior Wheels” program. Rides available Monday thru Friday 7:30am to 3:00 pm. Riding fees range from $1 to $3. Call our office and we will get you registered. Seniors use the rides for medical appointments, shopping, visiting, trips to the hairdresser, etc.
Residents 65 and older are eligible for the Homestead Exemption, which provides a discount on your property tax. The only requirement is that you are the homeowner and 65 years of age. For more information, call 216-433-4136.
Are you 65+? Is your income lower than $25,000? If so, you are eligible for the City’s Snow Removal Program. Contact the Office of Aging or City Hall for an application. Remember that driveways are only plowed after the City streets are cleared and at least two (2) inches of snow has accumulated. Please be patient with our wonderful service.

REACH Office
The REACH office will be open on Monday & Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you have any needs, please contact Betty Nagy, REACH Coordinator at 216-433-4168. During the Holiday Season, the program will be accepting cash donations and donations of non-perishable goods for those less fortunate. Please mail or drop off donations at the REACH office, 5590 Smith Rd.

Senior Citizens Club
If you would like to meet new friends, go on some bus trips, or share stories and company, then you should consider becoming a part of the Brook Park Senior Club. The Club is associated with the Brook Park Recreation Department and it's members are Brook Park residents. They meet on Tuesdays at the Recreation Center. The Senior Coordinator is Joan Corrigan. Senior Employment Center
Are you over 40 and looking for a job? The Senior employment Center is a non-profit organization that assists workers aged 40+ with their job search. Located in Euclid, Ohio, the center offers job search assistance and training, computer help, employer contacts, and general assistance with job search matters and supplies. All services are free. Orientation is every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Call 216-731-4664 to sign up for an orientation date.

Shopping Schedule
Shopping schedule on Wednesdays is to Brook Park area merchants. To join our shoppers, call us on Tuesdays at 216-433-4136. We travel to Southland the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
Beginning Wednesday October 7th, 2009 a $1.00 fee will be charged per person for shopping.

Grass Cutting/Snow Plowing
To participate in these programs, you may request an application by calling 216-433-1300. There are certain requirements that must be met to participate in these programs.

Blood Pressure Screenings
In conjunction with Southwest General Health Center and the Senior Connection, screenings
are held the 1st Tuesday of every month from 9:00 - Noon.

Prescription Drug Discount Program
The Mature RX Prescription Drug Program is available to all Brook Park residents. The program is not insurance and there is no membership fee or any charge to obtain the prescription card. Although the program does not cover all medications, most brand name drugs all generic medications are included. It is important to note the amount of the discount will vary from drug to drug. The program administrator is FFI Health Services. For more information or to sign-up, contact FFI Customer Service at 800-511-1314 and mention you are with Group #BROOK PARK. All calls must be directed to FFI.

Homestead Exemption Program
The Homestead Exemption Program offers reductions in property taxes for senior citizens and disabled individuals that meet income qualifications. For more information, call the Cuyahoga County Auditor's office at 216-443-7050.
