(CITY of Brook Park) – The Brook Park Police announced today that an OVI checkpoint will be held tomorrow evening.
The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
Based on provisional data, there were 530 OVI related crashes in which 9 people were killed this year in Cuyahoga County, Ptl. Kosakowski, Brook Park Police Department, said. “Officers respond to an average 130 alcohol related incidents each year. Alcohol related crashes account for 37% of all traffic deaths each year in Ohio. Ohio law also prohibits the operation of motor vehicles while under the influence of alcohol and illegal drugs.”
The location of the checkpoint will be announced Friday morning.
