NASA CELEBRATION- NASA Glenn will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of John Glenn’s historic space flight, when he became the first American to orbit the Earth on the Mercury capsule Friendship 7. The event “Celebrating John Glenn’s Legacy: 50 years of Americans in Orbit” will be held March 2nd at 1:00pm at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center. This event is free, but tickets will be offered via an online lottery. For more information visit www.csuohio.edu.

SPRING LUNCHEON- The Beautification & Pride Committee will hold it's 4th Annual Spring Luncheon on Sunday, March 11 from 1-4pm at the Community Center. SHRED-IT DAYS- The City of Brook Park will hold it's Shred-It Days for 2012 on Saturday, April 14th from 10am until 1pm and on Saturday, October 6th from 10am until 1pm. Residents are invited to come to the Brook Park Service Garage at 19065 Holland Road where a truck from All Ohio Secure Shred will be available for free, quick and easy destruction and disposal of documents. IMPORTANT RECYCLING INFORMATION- The Service Department no longer picks-up recycled paper products curbside. Residents can drop off their paper at the Paper Retriever containers which are placed at numerous locations throughout the City. For a list of locations and more information, click here.

POLL WORKERS NEEDED-The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is accepting applications for Election Day workers for the March 6, 2012 Primary Election. The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections must employ nearly 6,000 Poll Workers to serve at the polls on Election Day and is currently hiring for the March 6th, 2012 Primary Election. Poll Workers provide an important service for the community and work on the front lines of the democratic process. Poll Workers earn $172.10 for their service and must complete training prior to working on Election Day.
